Social Media

That’s my problem you know?
I always think I’m special
If only for a moment
I feel like someone could care
That there’s a connection
Then it all comes crashing back down
Walls of water
Held back by falsity
Tears no longer stopped
Pressure release valve let loose
Angry torrents of pain
All because I’m waiting for that reply
That doesn’t come
I’m a fool.

  1. I love this poem. It is deep, and I have been there! But we are both special, and as cliche as this sounds, there is somebody who will see that. Where? I have no idea! But we gotta keep our chin up, and I am a fan of getting my ego boosted with online dating. Even if you don’t consider actually meeting anybody. 🙂

    • Thank you for your kind words, it’s an older one. I found my forever with my husband luckily but I still find social media affects my mental health if I’m not careful. I search for likes and interaction and if I don’t get expected results I feel bad about myself. I try and take breaks from it. It’s easy to get sucked in. ❤❤
