Searching

What are you searching for?
Don’t you know I’m just as lost as you?
We’re two broken people
On a sinking ship
Oars just out of reach
Your blue eyes permeate my thoughts
Seeking answers I don’t have
We simply needed each other
Right place, right time
Nothing more and nothing less
Eventually, our hands had to slip apart
Now our paths diverge
And we have to try and forget
Those long nights
Those conversations
The stolen kisses
And lost wishes
Of a time that’s already past
