Notice Me

I cut my hair
and wore a new dress
I lined my eyes
and swung my hips
you didn’t notice me

do I have to paint my face with tears
and stain my hands with blood
for you to see how I am hurting?

Come back from wherever you’ve been
because I need you
My bones ache for you
and my soul cries out for you
I feel so very alone

Please notice me again.
