Sunlight

I love the way the sunlight looks in the mornings
how it reaches in beams through the window
to fall across my face
it warms me while I watch dust particles
dancing in the cold winter air
filtered as if through gauze
soft and bright, the whole room glows with it
sparkling off the dewy grass outside
my breath comes in spurts

you are behind me holding me
while I look through the glass
kissing my ear
I can smell the coffee that is brewing
and feel your hands at my waist

then just like that, I am lost to you.
